Cajun Shrimp and Grits

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup white grits
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup white sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • 16 oz Ultra Natural Cajun Shrimp

DIRECTIONS

  1. Bring water and chicken broth to a boil. Add uncooked grits and salt. Stir immediately until incorporated. Turn heat to low. Stir occasionally for 30-35 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat, add butter and shredded cheese.
  3. Heat cajun shrimp in a saucepan until thoroughly heated through.
  4. Spoon grits into individual serving bowls.
  5. Ladle cajun shrimp on top of grits.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.
